Announcements From the Editors: Asian Ethnology moving to Scholastica; pause on submissions extended
Asian Ethnology Is Moving to Scholastica
We are pleased to announce that Asian Ethnology will begin transitioning to a new publishing platform, Scholastica, in late July 2025. Our forthcoming issue will debut on this platform in both HTML and PDF formats, featuring a refreshed layout designed for clarity and ease of access.
As part of this transition, we will adopt Scholastica’s streamlined peer-review system. All new submissions will be managed through this platform and will be subject to a modest $10 submission fee (payable directly to Scholastica). Importantly, Asian Ethnology will continue to uphold its long-standing commitment to open access by not charging any article processing charges (APCs) or other fees.
Scholastica will also provide professional typesetting services, enabling our editorial team to devote more time and energy to the core work of curating and publishing high-quality research and book reviews.
To ensure a smooth and efficient transition, we are extending our current pause on new submissions until September 8, 2025.
We appreciate your continued support and look forward to sharing this exciting new phase of Asian Ethnology with you.
Sincerely,
Benjamin Dorman and Frank J. Korom
